Michael Gaffney - Executive Director
Michael, the son of one of the company’s founders, has a background in Engineering. He completed an HND in Mechatronics at college followed by a degree in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Aberdeen after which he went to work for a subsea survey company offshore. While studying he worked part-time at GCG as a spray painter. In 2008 Michael joined the team at GCG and has since been leading the management team in taking the company forward.
Robert Lawrie - General Manager
Bob has over 30 years experience in the industrial coatings industry encompassing the technical side, inspection and supervision right through to management. He has been involved in running major site jobs both offshore and onshore and for the past 10 years has capably filled the position of operations manager, overseeing our busy onshore blast cleaning and painting facility and the offshore and onshore site contracts.
Charles Mather – Yard Supervisor
Chuck is the longest serving employee in the company, boasting a 25 year employment term. He has worked his way up from the ground floor of the company and now holds the position of yard foreman. To add to his unrivalled expertise in the coating industry, he recently achieved a NACE qualification.
Thomas Youngson – TSA Supervisor/Site Supervisor
Toto is the company’s most experienced TSA applicator and having been with GCG for 15 years he has worked in almost every position in the company. He has experience in Blast Cleaning, Engineering, Spray Painting, Fireproofing, Cementacious Coatings, Polyurea Application and on top of that has been the company’s main engineering fitter for the past 8 years. In 2008, he became the main site contracts supervisor and successfuly completed an extremely high profile contract for Wood Group on the Fife LNG plant.
